Artwork by Raoul Servais in Middelkerke
Commissioned by the local authorities of Middelkerke and the non-profit organization Ku(n)st we were in charge of the realization and coordination of an artwork on the renewed market square of Middelkerke. This artwork was designed by artist Raoul Servais and was offered to him in honor of his honorary citizenship. The paper drawings were converted into digitalized designs by us. The structure is built out of South Chinese natural stone and black granite in which brass figures were inserted. The artwork in its entirety is 6 meters wide and 2,5 meters high. By using different techniques like water jet cutting and laser cutting the different components were created. Stone mason Debeir from Ostend was responsible for the correct placement.
